What's Next?
Once your team has been through whatever orientation track you picked, you will need to decide what to do next: how to continue and what to focus on. Whatever you do, the goal is to stay focused on the four areas of the covenant and how you can continue to learn from what life is presenting you.
One way: study
One way to move forward would be to pick an aspect of the covenant to dig deeper into through more study. If you go to the pages that describe any of the 4 aspects of the covenant, you will find several suggested resources. One of these might be something your team decides to look into together. There are more topics and more materials on the Materials for Study page.
The important thing will be to stay focused on the CityLife Covenant and to continue to reflect on what you are experiencing. Though it may sound strange to say it this way, CityLife is not meant to be "just a Bible study." Of course, you will want to study the Bible, but that is not who you are. You are a team committed to living a certain way, so pick something to do next that will help you think about, change and deepen what you are doing.
Another other way...
Instead of studying something, your team might commit to some activity together, some way to get some focused experience together in one aspect of the CityLife Covenant. The activity could be something you all do together, or it could be the same kind of activity but something you do in pairs or on your own. For example, you could all...
- volunteer to serve the poor somewhere in town
- organize your own day alone with God
- join a sports team or club or service group as a way to get to know some people who don't know Christ
- pick a certain amount of time to focus on prayer
- visit each other at work
- etc.
Meet weekly or every other week to reflect on what you are learning - and pray. Of course, picking something to study and something to do together is fine, too.
Finally...
For some groups, you might just need some time to talk before you decide what to do next. You can use these "Questions to Pursue" for one or more weeks to help you think about the adjustments you are making in your life as a part of or all of your team's time together. Sorting out where you are being the most stretched might help you decide what to do next.
