Team with Others
"Togetherness" is a great gift worth pursing and protecting. The interdependence we develop is vital to our own health and to the advancement of Jesus' gospel. We don't go it alone. We must learn to rely on one another, love one another and help one another as we offer ourselves to our friends walking toward Jesus.
As your team comes together, you will have many questions to work through...
- What will it mean to "team with others" in the natural rhythms of life?
- How will we get enough time together?
- In this new phase of life, what are the implications of Jesus' "new command" to "love one another as I have loved you" and his declaration that "they will know you are my disciples by your love for one another"?
- How will we advance the gospel "together" among the teams' relational networks?
- What does it look like to advance the gospel deeper in your own life among friends who are pulling for one another?
As a team you will learn to team over time, but here are a few ideas to get you started...
- Do a short Bible study: the Value Study on Community (from the College Mission)
- Reflect on your previous team experiences with attention to . . .
- Joys and disappointments
- Your unique contributions
- Healthy and unhealthy expectations
- Read and discuss Communities and Teams, a paper on how communities form (and on the differences between teams and communities)
