The Big Idea

Here is the big idea: instead of asking you to pursue topics for study, the CityLife covenant is about pursuing four commitments for living. The goal is to experience life with Christ in these areas: your relationship and walk with him, your work on the job, living among people who do not know him yet and doing all this with your team. What you do "out there" in these areas is central.

To get the most out of these experiences will take a little bit of effort because, unfortunately, the old saying about "experience is the best teacher" is not really true. Not without reflection. To learn from experience, it needs to be "mined." This is not a difficult process, but it does take a little intentionality, effort and time and is often best done with a few friends.

Books, essays, lectures, etc. are the captured reflection of others also going through and reflecting on life. They can be a big help as you think about your own experiences. Above all these stands the Bible, God's written perspective on all of life! So, altogether, here is the big picture:
