Can't Wait
If you just can't wait to get started (thinking, dreaming, experimenting, studying, praying, planning) here are a few ideas:
- Go through the pages focused on the four areas of the CityLife covenant and dig into any of the suggested resources.
- Follow the Action Learning link, read the article and do the exercise. It will get you started on this idea of using your own life experiences as the starting point for prayer, learning and digging into the Bible.
- Go to the Materials for Study page for a list of books, papers, Bibles studies, etc., arranged by topic (plus a "top 10" list of recommendations).
- It might sound cliché, but pray. Set up a short-term schedule to pray a bit extra. Pray for your teammates or potential teammates and for your relationships with them, pray for your mentor, your workmates, other friends you'll meet, your parents and family and how they feel about what you are doing. Pray that God would send you people you can serve and people who are ready to go a little deeper. Pray that you'll have fun. Pray that your work - what you actually do on the job - will be great and someday make the world a better place. Pray that through all the turmoil, you and God would grow closer and closer. Pray for whatever else is on your heart. (Here is a classic guide on How to Spend Extended Time in Prayer from The Navigators.)
